Genesis in the Message

Well I tried it. In fact, I tried it a second time. I've finished Genesis using "the Message" (paraphrase) and I feel like I haven't actually read the book. Yes, it was easy to read. Yes, it was easy to turn the pages. But I know there is so much theology in this book - covenants, families, blessings - and after reading "the Message" the theological message somehow seemed absent.

So, if I am going to do the whole 90 days, I am changing Bibles. Adam has unwittingly persuaded me to stay clear of the CEV.

Hmmm, not the NIV again... Maybe I'll give the ESV a try. Exodus here we come!
